Snowy Critters on Homestead pond, coop and…

Snowy Critters on Homestead Woke up to this Heron looking for a meal along with other Snowy Critters on the Homestead. No it did not stick around very long. I was happy to have caught this one photo. Yes, it really has been this deary here. I need the Sun to pop out for a little bit. And thankful that it did for about an hour. Caught this one while hanging with the flock during feeding time. This really could be a new romance for the coop. I really can not wait to see what beautiful babies these two will eventually make. She (on the left) is a green egg…

And I really do mean everything, even the chicken coop, vehicles, the poor trees are struggling to hold their branches. Even the poor little birdies where struggling at first to stay on the perches. The storm happened on Friday, all day. These photos were from Saturday and the temp was 37. Holy cow, I see on broken branch I hope that the others do not snap. You can see the one in the…

It is a Grateful Sunday. Hubby and his critters.

It is Grateful Sunday. It is that time again, it is Grateful Sunday. Today is about Joe and his love for critters. This morning Joe came home and checked the weather. Saw that the temperature was going to drop. So he brought out the heat lamp an old wool coat. Then he went about to construct a warm house. Using an old storage container and all sorts of other parts. Now, here is the thing. Junior is still deciding what he wants. He likes spending time us, however only one at a time. Junior even chats with us. He even follows me to the chicken coop. Fingers crossed he knows…

Whole lot of Homestead going on.

Whole lot of Homestead. You know that there is always a whole lot of Homestead going on each week. However this week… DANG!! Joe is home and I am still in the kitchen typing up this post. How do you like my view?? This Cleveland Pear looked like it was on fire about a day later. I really do love fall and all the colors. You can see the “big” Willow in the background. It is down by the pond and still green, but not too many leaves are left on it. Yes, the pond is super low. It was this low back 11 years ago. They following spring is…

    Wanting to say hello…

The wanted to say hello… Here are the two baby chicks… it is kinda obvious… the extra large brown egg, is the chick out front. The medium white egg is the mop head in the back. Not sure what is what yet, I still have my fingers crossed that they are both hens. The little one was not sure what to think at first, but they was very curious to what I was doing… They are the quietest chicks I have had to date. Not much peeping, but I would imagine that will change in time. Hugs and Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!

Warmer weather, growth, weeds and a baby…

With the last bit of warmer weather, the pine trees experienced a POP of new growth color. However, the oak trees did not want to disappoint either… Holy Cow, the street is well shaded now! I did forget to share this… it has been two weeks now since the dump truck came and delivered our first round of gravel. Now the area up by the house is stable and ready for all to drive on. We have several more deliveries to make before the whole driveway is done. And it is my understanding that the next one could come this month.. we will see?? I am happy for this one.…

    Chickens??

I originally took the video for my nieces. They just love to hear them talking and are just a little too far to just stop by… 3 hours.  They ask my sister to have me send them stuff. Why is it that you can see the colors better with the snow as a backdrop?? I do love the brisk mornings…. Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!
