Snowy Critters on Homestead pond, coop and…

Snowy Critters on Homestead Woke up to this Heron looking for a meal along with other Snowy Critters on the Homestead. No it did not stick around very long. I was happy to have caught this one photo. Yes, it really has been this deary here. I need the Sun to pop out for a little bit. And thankful that it did for about an hour. Caught this one while hanging with the flock during feeding time. This really could be a new romance for the coop. I really can not wait to see what beautiful babies these two will eventually make. She (on the left) is a green egg…

The storm happened on Friday, all day. These photos were from Saturday and the temp was 37. Holy cow, I see on broken branch I hope that the others do not snap. You can see the one in the…

The one Christmas Candle Do you know the meaning behind The one Christmas Candle?? I knew part of it, but hoped to find the whole story. And yes, I sure did look it up. I knew that is was a way to help loved ones find the house. I also knew that it was also a sign of good news. Finally I also knew that it meant that someone was away. However… I did not know that this goes all the way back to 1691 and Ireland. Yes, this peaked my interest because I am Irish. Are you ready?? Here is where things get interesting, at least to me. Happy week of Christmas, pretties, furies and food.

Happy week of Christmas Finally, we made it, Happy week of Christmas. Mooch is putting in his two cents. I was going to skip the tree, BUT he would not have it. Only two slimline trees AND no ornaments. I will find him sitting under them any minute. Mooch decided that I was not moving fast enough and took a nap. While he was napping I was able to get this and several other things done. Including two Christmas trees. A bunch of dusting and lots of sneezing too. haha. Check out last years decorations, here. The face… He wants more attention and I was not spooning out the food…

Sad looking Hamscher Homestead, just sad!

Sad looking Hamscher Homestead Things are really sad looking at the Hamscher Homestead, right??? Guys it is the 14th. This is the only decorations that I have up so far. Usually things are all decked out. I know I go a little Christmas Crazy, but this is just a drastic opposite for me!! YIKES!! So every year the VERY first thing that comes out is Mooch’s Christmas chair. You can see it in the background of this photo. I actually have only seen him on it once in three days. Which makes me sad actually. But maybe it is because he is waiting for all the rest of the crazy…

Thanksgiving breakdown and Kitty wants attention

Thanksgiving Breakdown and Kitty How about a Thanksgiving Breakdown and Kitty. Starting the night before with the drying of the bread. I was thinking for a second about making my own bread. Yes, just a second. I think I originally was thinking I would feel better then I actually did. Starting off the day with how we would end the day. Pies. I know how do two people need two pies. Well, I love Pumpkin and Joe loves Apple. So two pies. The pumpkin was cut and big part of it went into the freezer. You guys saw the crazy smoke here, right?? Last Sunday of November With this being the Last Sunday of November the month has been full of thanks. Tonight’s post covers a big week of Gratitude. Joe being home, lots of snuggles from kitties. And finally I was able to pet Junior. No we did not get to enjoy our Thanksgiving Feast with all of the family. We did get to video chat and see everyone. However from four different houses. Thankful for modern technology. So that I could at least see Mom and Dad, all my siblings, their spouses and all eight of the munchkins. Needs hugs but, soon, fingers crossed! You guys know that I am a…

Nothing going on here, weird week.

Nothing going on here. Well, what a week it has been, nothing going on here. However, this next week promises to be a full one. This sinus infection really knocked me out. Medicine I think … finally… kicked in. I know that things have been weird this week. Even with all the weirdness the far wall has been primed and Joe has a little work to do at one of the lights. A little too much fill. He removed the window frames today. Once the ceiling is painted moving on to the new color. What a mess, right?? Yes, this is a real mess. This is a photo taken tonight.…

It is a Grateful Sunday. Hubby and his critters.

It is Grateful Sunday. It is that time again, it is Grateful Sunday. Today is about Joe and his love for critters. This morning Joe came home and checked the weather. Saw that the temperature was going to drop. So he brought out the heat lamp an old wool coat. Then he went about to construct a warm house. Using an old storage container and all sorts of other parts. Now, here is the thing. Junior is still deciding what he wants. He likes spending time us, however only one at a time. Junior even chats with us. He even follows me to the chicken coop. Fingers crossed he knows…

Whole lot of Homestead. You know that there is always a whole lot of Homestead going on each week. However this week… DANG!! Joe is home and I am still in the kitchen typing up this post. How do you like my view?? This Cleveland Pear looked like it was on fire about a day later. I really do love fall and all the colors. You can see the “big” Willow in the background. It is down by the pond and still green, but not too many leaves are left on it. Yes, the pond is super low. It was this low back 11 years ago. They following spring is…

And if you saw my little post from yesterday… YES, I sure did enjoy the Ford Expedition with the panoramic sunroof!! However, though… so many buttons and weird things…. Like this… I know I am kinda old school, BUT what the what?? This should be illegal.. really!! No wonder no one knows how to drive stick shift either. Saying goodbye to Gabby – we will miss you.

Saying Goodbye to Gabby. A tough decision had to be made today. Joe and I had to say good-bye to sweet Gabby. Joe is devastated but knows that it was the right decision. She has many many buddies over that rainbow bridge. However, saying goodbye to Gabby and ANY pet is always difficult. Which includes her partner in crime and sister from another mother Maggie. These two needed a sister. When Maggie moved in 2009 they hit it off. Immediately!! Maggie has been gone for a few years. I remember how lost poor Gabby was. Now poor White Sox just does not know what to do. Remember we talked the…

Check here. More updates Gabby, and Kitchen. Kitchen is next… Adding more Red, White and Blue to the wall. Guys, shhhh, I have more stuff still!! I am just loving how it all came together. I…
