Snow Decorations and a Kitty Story

Here on the Homestead this week Snow Decorations and a Kitty Story. The big news here was all the snow we got from the second storm in two weeks. The last one thankfully melted right away. This one was about the same amount but decided to stay, at least so far. The Ducks as you can tell are NOT happy because the pool is closed. They did not know what to do with themselves. Later this day, they were able to go swimming for about an hour.

NOT nearly enough time, I was told.

Not just once but several times. Joe was also. Every time he or I walked past the coop. We have been hearing about it for days now. The pond has not seen enough sunlight to even think about melting.

Finally on Sunday, all the Fall decorations were down, packed up and back in the basement. Now the changing of the guard. Inside and outside Christmas decorations. Of course, I needed the right apparel to achieve this properly!! Coffee and Christmas cheer works, right. Plus one of my trusty assistants, Wayne. He was making sure that the garland would be long enough for the front door. He even liked the decorations on them.

Wanting to take advantage of Joe being home to help me bring up stuff. I am grateful he was willing and helped a bunch. I started getting a pile going on the bottom of the steps and all of a sudden it was gone.

Thank you sweetie!!

I knew what and where this tree was going, so I started with this. This is the natural tree/old school tree. Pinecones, orange slices a few metal snowflakes and the new addition is the little flickering candles. I LOVE it, what do you think?? I started on the butterfly tree too. Figuring where it was going ✅, Fluffing the tree ✅, Lights ✅, now to find the rest of the butterflies. Humm, I need to find a tree topper angel with butterflies. Ohhh that would be perfect!! More decoration as they get completed!

Kitty Story

Grab your tissue box. So, Saturday the storm was going full blast. I was soo worried about Joe getting home. I finally saw the truck inn the driveway, at the end. Hoping he was not stuck, remember 8-10 inches here. I saw it start to move and he pulled right up to the house. Came to the front door, in his arms was Momma. She was stuck in the street, no where to get away from a vehicle. Thankfully it was Joe and he watches for them. When he handed her to me he said that is it. No more. After getting in the house himself. He told me the story and I agreed. No more outside for her. I hate to even think what would have happened if it was someone else.

She has been doing pretty well, actually.

She is a BIG talker, even more than Butterfly. Momma is figuring out the schedule and finally has had a good long nap. Phew, what a week.

Was very happy to hear Joe was home safe!

Figured the ducks had plenty to say about this weather!

Sweet Momma is finely accepting indoor life. Maybe Mr. G. will join her soon.

    Hugs!
