Retiring Painted Poppies for Dad, all aged up.
Retiring Painted Poppies for Dad
When I was out by my parents, Mom helped me create this Retiring Painted Poppies for Dad! On a Saturday live, Mom and I finally were able to get crafty. Here is how the whole card idea came about. My dad a few weeks prior had sent me a text asking me about why we (cardmakers) do not make more antique looking cards. I sent him back that I have before, however, it has been a while.
So, I figured, I had a mission.
A mission to create an aged looking card. I knew right away what I wanted to do. So I was sure to bring my Crumb Cake ink, and of course my Linen Thread. With the green theme going on, just prior to St. Patrick’s Day. I figured why not.
Here are a few of the steps…
Starting off with Very Vanilla cardstock. I ripped all four sides, did the same to the Crumb Cake layer behind it. Stamped on the Very Vanilla in Crumb Cake the poppy flower “field”. Took a deep breath and crumpled it in a ball. I did it from a few different angles too. Here is where the fun started. Using my ink pads (both Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake) I “dirtied” up the edges. Highlighting the ripped edges.
I loved how it turned out. Mom did too. Sharing it with Dad, after the video, he liked it too. How about you?? Have you tried anything like this before??
Hugs and Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!
