October Girl’s Night, the first card.

October Girl’s Night
On the first Friday of each month, you can come and make some birthday cards. October Girl’s Night was no exception. We crafted, talked and laughed too! This was the first of two cards that the girls made. We always have two designs and they made two of each design. I saw this layout somewhere and knew that I had to try it. To simple?? I think the technique that I added kept the ladies on their toes.
The Country Home stamp set has the beautiful water jug. But where in the heck did I get that sentiment?? Well, I made it. You might want the Stamparatus for this one. It really did help get everything lined up right!! I used the “happy Harvest blessings” but covered up the ‘blessings’ part. Then I looked through all my birthday sentiments. And let me say there are a TON!! To find just the right one.
I finally decided…
that Itty Bitty Birthdays was the best fit. Covered the Happy, but how?? Well with regular scotch tape. Cover the part you do not wish to ink. Ink up your stamp and then carefully remove the tape and stamp. ta-Duh!! Game changer, right?? Yes, you can do this with ANY stamp.

Next is the “galvanized” water jug. Why did I say galvanized. Well, we colored it using Watercolor Pencils. And to blend some of the pencil strokes we also use the Blender Pen. However, did you know that we have two sets of Watercolor Pencils?? Noo, well the one for this card is in a pack of 13. The second pack is an add on pack of 10. The first one includes Basic Black, Whisper White and Basic Gray. The second has Granny Apple Green and Highland Heather. So both are a MUST have!!
What do you think?? I did make a second card to keep in my stash. I like the simple elegance of this card. Check back Tuesday for the second card.
