Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom!

I do not know how many of you know, but my mom is an artist. Serious, I have paintings of hers in my house. AMAZING!! She has done several mixed media, sculptures and others. I bet you are guessing that is where my “art-ability” comes from? I hate to admit, out loud, it took me over 30 years to find it!

So you can see why, just a “simple” card for my mom… will NOT do!

Let’s start with the pieces… Using several punches for this card. The small bloom punch from the 2020 Annual Catalog. However at the moment I do not have a current coordinating stamp for it, YET!! So what is a girl to do… improvise! On the lower layer of the flowers I did second generation of the leaves stamped in Mossy Meadow. hummmm, but what for the tops??

Will the medium daisy stamp work??

Ohhhh yes!! Now working on the layer, darn it, my embossing paste was EMPTY!! booo hoooo. Now what …. Okay, shimmer paint and ink refill? What do you think?? It is shiny for sure!!

Adding a couple sprigs in Mossy Meadow. Putting the flower layers together, the medium daisies each have 3 stamped and punched layers. The middle layer is spritzed in shimmer paint/reinker. The top layers are double dimensionaled. PHEWWW

I know there is a lot going on…. Do I keep going??

I will share one more thing. The ribbon, how did I get it to roush up like that?? Tear and Tape! I put three small sections down and that is where I folded it over.

I am super excited that you can see all the shimmer paint and wink of stella that I added!! YEAH!! Lots of ink smudging and tearing. OHH, The gingham DSP is layered also.

Did I miss something?? Please ask if you have any questions. I have been wanting to do a card like this… for a super long time! I hope you like it too. But keep in mind, this is NOT a card to mail. I knew that making it, and I know mom will like the nod to her art style here.

Dad, it is okay to show mom… I will be sure to bring it just as soon as I can get there!! Which I sure hope is VERY soon! Mom, I love you! Thank you for being a great mom, through all the crazy stuff and especially being my friend now as an adult!

Hugs and Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!
