Free as a Bird for GDP #196

This week for the Global Design Project is CASE the designer, Connie Collins. The parts that spoke to me are the Gingham and Frames… Have you tried using two of the stitched dies together?? No muss, no fuss for great frames! This carries all through the Ovals, Circles, Squares, Rectangles even the new Nesting dies.

Continuing with the “patriotic” color scheme of the Holiday weekend, but using a more country style of Crumb Cake, Night of Navy and Merry Merlot. All 3 of those colors are included in the Neutrals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper pack (149614). Additionally available in both sets of In-Colors, Brights, Subtles and Regals (pg168).
The top left picture shows just how easy it is to separate the Braided Linen Trim (147808). Wrapping the trim around twice and tying in a knot, then separate. Bow was tied and ….
The triple leaf went perfect, but silver or copper, not so much. So, Stampin’ Blends to the rescue… Dark Night of Navy (144039). Pictured on the right top, is what it looked like after one application, three or four times are needed. Above all…do not forget to do in between and the sides.

Stamp the bird image on Crumb Cake using Soft Suede. Merry Merlot, Crumb Cake and Night of Navy added, with a mostly dry aqua painter. You will lose the stamped image if your aqua painter is too wet.
Challenge for you:
- Try and mix two/three different patterns,
- or a color combination you have never done before!!
Thank you to the Global Design Project and Connie Collins for another great Challenge week.
Lastly, enjoy your holiday weekend…. Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!

This card is Amazing on several levels.
The fussy cutting of those birds looks near perfect. Not sure I am brave enough to try that.
Your attention to detail is spot on.
Great choice of color and love the patriotic nod to the 4th of July.

I love everything about this card! The ribbon looking like a bird nest, the color combination, and the colored leaves trinket.

Jennifer, this card is beautiful in every way. I love how you frayed the ends of the braided ribbon trim and colored the leaf embellishment to coordinate with your color scheme. Thanks for playing along at Global Design Project.
