Ducks Pumpkins Flowers and Projects

Okay Dad, I have some fun for you to start. This week is about Ducks Pumpkins Flowers and Projects, it is a big one so buckle up!! Starting here with these poor Ducklings. This was just an easy way to transport them from tub in the house to pool outside. After a few days of sitting outside with them… they also got moved… Sunday.

I realized that the heat was coming… so I figured that being outside was a better option especially for my nose. ANYWAY, these guys figured out pretty quick that they enjoyed sitting in the water. On Saturday I sat out for almost 2 hours… they just sitting around. Sunday I devised a plan… Pallet old torn screen and moving the pool. I have to separate the big Chickens from the Ducklings and Chicks.

Ohhh yeah did I mention they were ready too.

They moved too. As you can see. A swimming they went. I was able to check on them throughout the day on Sunday. Which I am glad that I did… I had to move them into the shade and pool a couple times. They had that figured out after that.

What is next??

Well, I have 5 days on the incubator… So there is not much time to get things cleaned out. Then I start all over again. Chicks only this time… I have been busy elsewhere on the property too…

The experiment is off to a great start!! Super excited too. All the hills have sprouts or seedlings. There are now 23 hills of ‘Pumpkins”. I added quotes because there are decorative squash plants too. You know the Flat Whites and Blue pumpkins… that are really squash. Well, they all are. Here is to hoping that we get some more rain… these guys need it to get started.. I can water but as a good gardener knows.. it is not the same.

This is a view from the driveway. Dang that lavender is HUGE and very happy. I love all the Black Eyed Susans and Gaillardia behind it. It sure looks good especially since there are no kittens in it, popping up… hahaha. Here is where the projects start… you ready??

First Project… Paint the 4 inch wood stars. Yes, we are leaning in on the Patriotic Theme for all of summer this year. Once all 12 of each color were painted, dried and had jute twine. I added all that to a main strand of Jute twine. Hung it on the door. Added a bunch of old Stampin’ Up! Ribbon and Ta-Dah!! Joe even said something about it… I was pleasantly surprised.

Secondly, this one was more like a repair than a new project. I had the white and red houses. Felt it needed a third. So I found the perfect pallet scrap. Added anew roof to the white one and connected them. I know I need to touch up the paint, however, I kinda like it dirty and weathered. Thoughts??

Lastly, I have finally got the popsicles put together. Now, all I have to do is round the edges. Dang, I wanted to get that done today. I am giving myself a pass on that…

TOO HOT!!

So here they will sit. If I can find a cool morning or evening I will chip away at it. Then, all that is left is painting. I am going to paint mine and let everyone else do as they want. But we will be using the same colors as the first project. Navy, Red and White. All of that paint is exterior so they will be able to use them for a little while.
