Challenge #197

Sorry, I waited to post this until Sunday, but wanted to be sure that the judging for the Fair was over, but still in time for the Challenge Judging… phew, down to the wire as always! Using the color challenge from the Global Design Project and also making it my fair entry.

What Fair you ask… Well, did you know that your County 4H fair has an open class?? yes, for adults. Ours is run by the homemakers groups. I have taken items before… it is fun to find out what other folks in the County are doing for fun. More on that once the fair opens… Monday!

ANYWAY…

Looking at the colors at first… I was excited… I love the Seaside Spray and Terracotta Tile together, looking at the Pear Pizzazz was where the challenge was. hummmm

Lets start, making my template for the embossing paste. Be sure to get the more solid/fuller die cut from Butterfly Beauty (148536) No matter the color, just a good cut is necessary.

Now, we all have Press n’Seal in the craft room… use it… I do not know about you, but sometimes the embossing paste can find its way off where it needs to be!! Using the Press n’Seal especially for the antennae area, helps!! It also helped to peel up the template once all the butterflies where covered.

At first, cutting the top layer with just the Seaside Spray, and liking it, but… How do you add in the Pear Pizzazz? Sooo, I tried it the other way.. but… I liked them both, but walked away for a night… leaving the two layers laying on top of each other…

HUMMM,

Taking a second look in the morning… and pulling out the scissors.

Combo of colors was the way to go… and the extra butterfly on the inside of the card plus a few extras for other things. YEAH!!

You know I love my little touches… a sweep of Seaside Spray in the largest butterfly body and then Shimmer Paint (147044) for each butterfly antennae. For the Fair, I was wanting to be able to see the whole card, display, YES.

The perfect set up, right?? Note…. only the butterfly bodies are glued to the layer…also for a secure easel, use dimensionals, the lift is needed for the proper place for that face to rest.

Yes, there is a lot packed into this card, Fun technique, Fancy Fold and even fussy cutting… Is it me, or if you look at just the top picture it could be looked at as simple??

Another challenge in the books. This one came together and was fun too! Thanks once again to the Global Design Project. Looking forward to next week!

This is the last of butterfly week, Hope you enjoyed the inspiration! Because you know that I enjoyed creating all these butterfly cards!!

Have a Great Day getting Crafty!!
