    Friday….. Global Design Project day!!

Playing along with the Global Design Project team again today… this one is #GDP160 or C.A.S.E. the designer Krista Frattin. (Copy And Selectively Edit) What I liked about Krista’s card is the layers and how everything was “hanging out” on one side… Her colors were more subtle though… Combining old and new die cuts to create the leaves… Seasonal Layers Thinlits (143751) for the maple leaf and Detailed Leaves Thinlits (147921) for the fancy cut leaf. The DSP pack Country Lane (147804) is where all the patterned paper is from, even the wood grain piece. It is fun mixing colors and patterns for fall…The “maple” leaf helps to pull all…

    Global Design Project Challenge

This week’s #GDP159 was the theme “Fall in Love”. Taking a Que from Joe, my hubby, his favorite color is green. Using the Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla to be able to bring in the fall colors, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, So Saffron and Rich Razzleberry. The Rooted in Nature bundle(c-148352 w-148353) did most of the work for me. Lets talk embossing folders, the Woodland (139673) is the first layer. Using a VERY light hand and a sponge (141337) with soft suede ink… LIGHTLY rub just the tree trunks. Using this “technique” you can even see the bark breaks. Next, the Petal Burst (141493) folder is the top layer. Working…

    Global Design Project #158

This weeks #GDP158 challenge is a sketch… the above is not horizontal but vertical. Do you have favorite tools or stamps or even seasons?? Yes, I have favorites, sorry it’s not like my kids… it is okay!! I love fall and the new Falling for Leaves bundle is perfect for that season!! The second favorite here is the the embossing paste. So much can be done with it. On this challenge card, there is a thin layer of paste, ink your stamp and just stamp like normal. This same technique is in the attached YouTube video. The Cajun Craze ink on the large leaf is just stamped into the regular…

    GDP Challenge 149

The Challenge this week was a Color Challenge.. #gdp149, These colors together are AMAZING!! Remembering Grandmas sunflowers and I think even, a check apron, were the inspiration for this card… I remember my grandparents winning an award for the largest sunflower when I was younger… even had a newspaper clipping.. Fun memory! 😀 The happiness of the sunflowers in Lovely Lipstick brought more brightness to the Bermuda Bay. Using the layers to pull all the colors together. Would you now try this color combo?? I know I would use it again! Even the inside gets flowers and layers. Thank you for your kindness of stopping by please leave a comment…

    Country/Farm Theme

How did I do?? It started off a tough Challenge.. #gdp147… The Global Design Project this time chose the theme of Country/Farm. Using an older technique and older supplies (At Home with You 143681, At home Framelits 143727, Woodland Textured embossing folder 139673) Thinking of Country life, which I live, I think of barns, animals and even tractors, The best time of year on the farm is in the fall…. turning of the leaves, harvests, sunflowers and pumpkins. Picturing the woods surrounding the barn and a hint of beauty in the potted sunflowers adding a couple pumpkins to remind us of the season.. Using the watercolor pencils to color the…

    Sketch Challenge

Here is my version of the Global Design Project sketch Challenge#146 (#gdp146).. Using the new Layering Alphabet Bundle, Layering Ovals, Pinewood Planks embossing folder, Pick a Pennant and Pop of Petals Bundle….Phew, That is a lot of stuff… I have been enjoying these challenges… Kinda takes me out of my comfort zone a little. And you know how much I love not completely following the directions (sorry), haha Having to pick a flower was the first tough task… there are 5 very pretty flowers in this stamp set. Layering the flowers, which by the way is a wonder punch… added to the “volume” of the flowers… too much?? NOPE!! Liking…

    Color Challenge…

Today is another Global Design Project day… #gdp145. Today’s color challenge, Grapefruit Grove, Fresh Fig and Mint Macaron. Using the Seasonal Layers (pg 218 143751 $33.), the Layering Ovals (pg 218 141706 $35.) sentiment from Colorful Season Stamp Set (pg161 and the new triple punch for this, could be a card front, but I am giving this to a friend that is a hairdresser… she likes to have encouraging/inspirational things on her mirror. I hope this fits the bill… And no this is not flat… dimensionals all over. And the banner has to look like it is flapping in the breeze, right? What do you think of the clouds?? Did…

    Sketch Challenge #142

Today we are using this sketch with the Global Design Project (#GDP142) for a different Father’s Day Card. Using both new and old current items. Lets start with the die cuts, Seasonal Layers (pg219 143751 $33), Leaf Punch (pg211 144667 $16), Stamps Itty Bitty Greeting (pg46 w-146664 $48 c-146667 $36) and Big Wishes (pg 75 w-146422 $27. c-146425 $19) and lastly paper… DSP (leaves) is Share What you Love (pg188 146926 $27), cardstock is Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue. I really liked the slight angle of the sketch… Immediately thought of a fancy fold… going back and forth between this and a double angle. This followed the sketch better. right?…

This time using the DSP, Mint Macaron, Grapefruit Grove, Basic Black and Blackberry Bliss. Have you tried to heat emboss on vellum yet?? Talk about an easy way to hide the adhesive… WOW!! Rounding out this card (hahaha) is the stitched shapes framelits (pg 220 145372 $30.) The Nature’s Twine is a four pack, Crumb Cake, Grapefruit Grove, Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron.
