2 Garden Projects and Visiting Mom

Ohhh, with the warm weather you know what that means!! You got it, 2 Garden Projects and Visiting Mom. Ohh what a week. Dirty hands and dirt in my shoes, plus other places, hahaha. Starting with the project at my house. The above is the before photo. This wheel barrel has been hanging out here for almost two years now, I think. It has been something I have been trying to figure out what else it needed. Well, I found a fun wood tall ladder. Perfect, indeed!! Now to figure out how big the area needed to be.

So all the grass was removed, left photo. As you can see I found a couple of. Black Eyed Susan’s. Those stayed, for sure. I found a couple of hardy geraniums and Paula shared some lily volunteers. The Wheel Barrel is planted with Red, White and Blue theme, along with the pots on the latter. Ohh and I can not forget to mention that the hanging basket is also that theme. Hummm, I love having a patriotic corner. It seemed the right spot under the flag, right?

Now on to Project Two.

That required a trip to Illinois. Since Dad has been bringing Mom to the house more I was asked to plant for mom. I want to be sure to add. Mom helped unload the truck. OHHed over a couple flowers. We piled up the plants. And there is where I got to work. Which I did, check this out!!

After two different trips to two different greenhouses, I found all that I was looking for. Now for the dirty work…. The soil had not been touched for two years. Uggh, yes, I added some compost and fertilizer to the area. Now to arrange the flowers. Dang it turned out soo good. Dontcha think?

However, I have to say that this is one of my MOST favorite parts. You know I always take a photo with mom… I love you Mom!!
